Year-round Tans

One out of the many great things about summer is the warm weather and the ability to get a tan! Many people, male and female, like the look of sunkist skin, which some prefer to have year-round. Even though this may be a popular trend now-of-days, it is important to remember to keep your skin safe. Did you know that it only takes one sunburn that blisters to double your lifetime risk of skin cancer? Or did you know that a beach umbrella has an SPF of only 3 to 10 rather than sunscreen that can range from 15-75? WebMD has a fun little quiz to test your knowledge on suntans and sunscreens. Check it out because you may find out something you didn’t know (I know I did)!

It is also good to note that tanning beds are no good either. Unless prescribed by your doctor for mental health issues, it is best to keep your distance from them. Those things in the long-run are notorious for making your skin look leathery and will help with the aging process by producing wrinkles! I don’t know anyone who is happy with wrinkles at age 25 (or more!!).

Honestly if you want a tan, but don’t want to have to deal with the harsh effects of UV rays, try lotion that is tinted or if you are worried about streaks being left behind use a foam. It will actually save you money and it won’t hurt your skin. These days, beauty product companies have gotten much better with making things that don’t have a completely orange tint to it, so you don’t have to worry about it looking like a spray-on tan.
