Ramen Noodle Hacks

Ramen noodles: you might love them or you might not but either way they are a pretty cheap meal to fix, whether you’re looking for something quick or it’s what you can currently afford. So you have before you a package of ramen noodles and you want to make them taste better or different from the usual. Here are some cheap hacks to give your noodles a makeover:

Frozen vegetables – frozen veggies are usually pretty cheap with corn and peas being good options. You can take the frozen package and run under hot water for 30 seconds give or take, and then after you drain them just add them to the hot soup before serving.

Longer cooking vegetables – veggies that take longer to cook like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and snap peas can be added while the noodles are cooking, usually about 2 minutes before it is finished boiling.  It may take trial and error to figure out the precise moment to add them in so they’re fully cooked but it can be done.

Hard boiled eggs – add the eggs to a pot of cold water, bring it to a boil, and then drop in your noodles. The egg should be pretty perfectly hard boiled in just about the same time that it takes to cook the ramen through.

Canned soup – if you want to you can add a can of cream soup like cream of mushroom, cream of chicken or whatever you have on hand.

You can also add different spices and condiments to the noodles to give them a different flavor. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try some new things! If you have some hacks to upgrade your ramen noodles, share them here, or tag us on Facebook.
